Notching a job may sound like a daunting task but it is not that difficult afterall.
 
Many first timers, especially newly graduates get a little nervous during a job interview. They are unsure how to strike a good impression with a potential boss due to a lack of expertise.
 
Here are a few simple and easy interview tips:
 
    1. The best way to overcome your nervousness is by coming in well prepared! Do your homework and find out what are the frequently asked questions in any general interview. Also do background research on the company you are going to work for and find out what does she specialize in. Do not forget to pre-empt some tough questions as well for contingency purposes.
    2. Wear a good outfit, dress to impress but do not over dress up or wear something too fanciful. Do not make it seem that you are trying too hard.
    3. Know how to greet, speak to your future boss in a decent, formal yet impressive manner. Handshakes are very a very important gesture before and after an interview.

  1. Make yourself feel comfortable. The best way to get rid of the nervous bug is by making yourself feel at your best comfort.
  2. Do not try to segregate an interview from an everyday conversation. Obviously you are expected to have that level of formality and professionalism. However, try to relate the interview to an everyday conversation. This will ease off the nervous tension and let the conversation flow easily.
  3. Never give one word or incomplete answers. Make sure you are giving good and elaborated answers and always ask questions back. Employers do not want to hire someone who is disinterested in knowing more about his job scope. They want someone who is curious to know the mechanisms of the organization.
  4. Remember to take relevant notes during the interview. This is another way to show your potential boss that you are curious to find out more.
  5. Once the interview is over follow-up with a thank you email. This shows sincerity and gratitude that the interviewer gave you a chance to prove yourself worthy of the job.
 
These simple yet effective exercises can rapidly increase your chances on getting your first job. They are essentially a part of the interview etiquette which managers across all industries are looking for.
