Job Description

Construction Project Trainee (Reports to Construction Project Managers)

Role Overview:

As a Construction Project Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of project management, civil engineering, and quantity surveying. This role offers a comprehensive overview of how a construction project operates from inception to completion. You will be involved in diverse responsibilities across site visits, coordination, tendering, and more, providing a well-rounded experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site Visits & Engineering Coordination

    • Participate in on-site inspections and assist with the coordination of civil engineering tasks, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  2. Construction Work Coordination

    • Assist in the planning and scheduling of key construction activities such as ordering concrete and verifying the application of structural drawings on site.

  3. Architectural & Structural Design Coordination

    • Work closely with project teams to analyze architectural designs for structural soundness and buildability, ensuring design integrity is maintained during construction.

  4. Tendering for Projects

    • Participate in the preparation of bids and tender documents, gaining insights into the bidding process for construction projects.

  5. Quantity Take-Off

    • Learn to accurately measure and estimate materials required for construction through quantity take-offs, an essential skill for project budgeting.

  6. Compiling Method Statements

    • Assist in the creation of method statements that outline how construction tasks will be performed safely and efficiently.

  7. Liaising with Subcontractors & Clients

    • Develop strong communication skills by coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, ensuring that project requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
