Job Description

Summary:

Are you passionate about art, crafts, and storytelling? Do you love working with children and want to make a difference in their early literacy journey? Join our dynamic and creative team at our Phonics Early Literacy Enrichment Centre as an Art and Illustrative Intern! You will be responsible for supporting our learning programs by preparing engaging lesson materials, designing class worksheets, and creating storybooks. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your artistic skills while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the design and creation of visual learning materials such as worksheets, flashcards, and storybooks to support literacy development.

2. Develop and execute engaging art and craft activities that complement the learning themes and enhance children's creativity.

3. Work closely with educators to understand lesson objectives and create tailored resources to meet children's needs.

4. Prepare, organize, and manage materials for lessons, ensuring they are ready for use during class sessions.

5. Collaborate with the team to develop creative displays and artwork that transform classrooms into vibrant learning environments.

6. Help maintain a clean and organized art studio and work area.

7. Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new educational resources and activities.

8. Provide assistance during classes, offering support to children during art and craft sessions.

9. Ensure materials are designed with safety in mind and are age-appropriate for young children.

10. Adapt and modify teaching aids based on children’s feedback and performance.


Requirements:

- A strong passion for art, creativity, and working with children.

- Basic skills in art and design, including proficiency in digital illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is a plus).

- Strong organizational skills to manage materials and resources efficiently.

- Good communication skills to work closely with educators and understand lesson goals.

- Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

- Attention to detail and the ability to follow guidelines for creating child-safe and educationally effective materials.

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a dynamic setting.

 

Key Information:

- Working hours are well within 44 hours per week, providing a balanced work-life environment.

- Weekdays: 2 pm - 9 pm (0.5 hour break)

- Weekend: 8.30 am - 6.30 pm (1.5 hour break)

- Working days: 5 days per week.

 

Work Mode: On-site

 Work Location: Hougang /Ang Mo Kio/ Bukit Batok

Employment Type: Internship (Full-Time/Part-Time)

Salary Range: 600 Onwards
