Job Description

We are looking for highly motivated interns to help in furthering the cutting edge of metal additive manufacturing (AM). Positions are available on several types of work. Basic work involves supporting our staff on print-related tasks such as data preparation and printer operation. The more advanced internship work is geared towards automation, digital and data analytics aspects of AM. This involves multidisciplinary (mechatronics/mechanical/software/ML/AI) design work which is continuously carried out to streamline our department's R&D work, to increase the productivity of our metal 3D printing equipment, for the end goal of developing digital solutions around our core research theme.

Interns wishing to gain exposure to the entire scope of work of the department would need to have a background of mechanical, materials, software, system engineering, AI and machine learning skills. However, we are searching for interns who have competency in at least one of the above domains and have strong desires to either deepen those domains and/or extend his/her expertise into adjacent fields. Students currently specialising in one particular field may wish to use this internship as an opportunity to gain exposure to other branches of engineering.

Application Instructions
Interested applicants should preferably have an engineering portfolio (e.g codes, CADs, school/personal projects) to showcase their technical strengths, and have thought about how they wish to contribute to and learn from the department in a potential internship.
Internship stipends are based on current education status, skillsets, and upon agreement. For applications, please directly contact Tan Zheng Jie (), Senior Scientist, ARTC.
