Job Description
You will be directly working under AngelHack’s Technical Lead to execute an AI competition that AngelHack is organising for a government agency. Your work will be highly varied, ranging from building key technical components for the competition to evaluating educational AI training materials, all under tight deadlines.
You will report directly to the project’s Technical Lead, who is currently based in Vancouver, Canada but will return to Singapore for the competition during May and June. Most meetings will be virtual, and thus working arrangements will be highly remote & flexible, except for during for May/June which will probably be in-office/on-site full-time (and possibly more than full-time during the competition itself).
Duties and Responsibilities
You are responsible for any tasks required of you by the project Technical Lead. In practice, that will likely look like the following over the course of your employment:
- Build out and test competition platform and infrastructure, inclusive of:
- MLOps infrastructure on GCP/AWS,
- Competition simulator environment,
- Python integration with robots and control server,
- Participant boilerplate code for AI model inference, and
- Generating synthetic datasets for training AI models.
- Sourcing additional datasets (open-source or CC) to provide to participants.
- Coordinate with competition technical instructors, and evaluate the instructional material developed by them for the competition.
- Participate in client meetings discussing technical matters.
- Participate in competition organization and execution, including setup, onsite + virtual technical support for competition participants, teardown, and after-action review.
Qualifications
- An ideal candidate is independent, resourceful, highly motivated, and a solid communicator, with strong technical abilities.
- Fresh grad or Polytechnic/JC/University student, with a background in a related technical discipline such as computer science/data analytics/business intelligence.
- Familiarity with Python and basic ML/AI knowledge is essential.
- Existing cloud knowledge (GCP/AWS), Docker, and Git is highly preferred but not required, provided you are able to pick it up quickly.
