You will learn to build web platforms with ease and speed, using Ruby on Rails.
You will also experience full-stack development, from managing databases to creating rich user interfaces.
You will be guided every step of the way, and encouraged to share your opinions.
At the end of the internship, you will have gained a swiss army knife of skills and techniques to navigate your way to development success.
Learn to
Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
Design and develop UI/UX implementations
Design robust, scalable and secure features
Produce detailed specifications
Follow best practices (continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, code standards)
Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design
Interact with account management personnel for project specifics
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle - architecture, design and development, user experience development, documentation, unit testing, delivery and maintenance
Good Skills to Have
Working experience in software development
Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS & JQuery
Good knowledge of relational databases
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Excellent sense of graphic and web design (e.g. user experience, user interface)
Exposure to the current online design trends for businesses
Proficient in image authoring tools like Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
