We are looking for an intern to join our amazing team! We seek someone who is highly motivated, speaks well and is articulate, with good taste and even greater skills. Ideally, the candidate would have excellent time management abilities too.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Occasionally, we need to be present at client events. Must attend weekly team meeting.
- Design Software Proficiency
- Mastery of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant tools used for creating visual designs.
- Layout and Composition
- Ability to arrange design elements harmoniously, considering visual hierarchy, balance, and effective use of space.
- Typography
- Knowledge of different fonts, their characteristics, and how to use them appropriately for legibility and visual impact.
- Colour Theory
- Understanding of colour psychology, colour harmonies, and the ability to choose and combine colours effectively in designs.
- Image Editing
- Proficiency in editing and manipulating images, including retouching, cropping, resizing, and optimizing for different mediums.
- Illustration
- Capability to create original illustrations or graphics by hand or using digital tools, demonstrating creativity and artistic skills.
- Branding and Identity
- Knowledge of brand guidelines and the ability to create consistent visual identities, including logos, brand elements, and style guides.
- Print and Digital Design
- Familiarity with the requirements and specifications for both print and digital mediums, including designing for websites, social media, and print collateral.
- User Experience (UX) Design
- Understanding of user-centered design principles to create designs that are intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively understand client requirements, present design ideas, and collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Time Management
- Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Attention to Detail
- A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in design work.
- Problem-Solving
- Ability to analyse design challenges and find creative solutions while considering technical constraints and client preferences.
- Adaptability and Continuous Learning
- Willingness to stay updated with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments, and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
Requirements and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design.
- Impressive portfolio showcasing graphic work.
- Familiarity with design software and technologies like InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, and Photoshop.
- Keen attention to aesthetics and fine details.
- Strong communication skills and articulate in speech.
- Ability to work in an organised manner and meet deadlines.
- A degree in Design, or a related field is a bonus.
