We are a fast growing Fund Manager that is looking for a Private Equity Generalist Intern for a tenor of 3-6 months (with an option to extend further).

Job Description

We are a fast growing Fund Manager that is looking for a Private Equity Generalist Intern for a tenor of 3-6 months (with an option to extend further). As this position is available during the school year, it might suit students that are on a leave of absence (LOA). This role will directly report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and involves the operational aspect of fund management.

Candidate is expected to maintain working relationship with all client contacts, including investment professionals, investors, auditors, lawyers etc. Therefore, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, willingness to think out-of-the-box and be able to perform well under pressure and to be able to simultaneously handle multiple assignments.


Job scope

Close interface with the COO on a variety of matters including:Compliance, Regulation, Legal and Governance Document management, valuation, day-to-day accounting and administration for client sponsored investment portfolios in alternative investments.Maintaining working relationship with investors throughout life of the fund, answer investor questions for non-investment decision related inquiriesWork with investment team on valuation of investments of portfolio companies, investment analysis and talking to portfolio companies

Experience in any or all of the above areas is preferred but not required.


Requirements

BS/BA from a reputable university. 

Knowledge of alternatives investments particularly private equity (Venture and Growth) & hedge funds preferred.

Exceptional problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, both independently and collaboratively .

Meticulous attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong interest in and general knowledge of investments and financial markets.

Experience in the private equity/venture capital industry is preferable.

Strong computer skills are required, especially Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

Willingness to ask questions and be a self-starter
