Job Description

Position: Graphic Design & Social Media Marketing Intern

Company: Alangkaar 

Location: 21 Kerbau Road

Duration: 6 months

Type: Full-Time Intern, 5 days a week, 10am-8pm

 

Join Alangkaar, a dynamic and innovative wedding planning and events company, as a Graphic Design & Social Media Marketing Intern. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about design and social media to gain hands-on experience in a creative environment. You will work closely with our marketing team to create stunning visuals and engaging content that resonates with our audience while helping us grow our brand presence.

Responsibilities

1. Graphic Design Creation:

- Assist in designing eye-catching graphics for various platforms, including social media posts, wedding invitations, event flyers, brochures, and digital marketing materials.

- Use creative storytelling through visual elements to reflect the unique aspects of our events and brand identity.

- Ensure that all designs align with our brand guidelines and resonate with our target audience.

2. Social Media Strategy Development:

- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop comprehensive social media strategies that drive engagement, increase followers, and promote brand awareness.

- Schedule and post content across various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) using social media management tools.

3. Event Promotion:

- Work with the team to brainstorm and create promotional content for upcoming events, services, and special offers.

- Monitor social media channels for event feedback and questions, providing timely responses and engagement.

4. Brand Consistency:

- Help maintain a cohesive brand voice and aesthetic across all marketing materials by following established branding guidelines.

- Assist in creating a library of reusable design assets for future campaigns to maintain brand consistency.

5. Market Research:

- Research current design trends, wedding industry benchmarks, and effective social media strategies.

- Analyze competitor activity to identify opportunities for our brand and inform creative direction.

6. Content Creation Support:

- Support the planning and execution of event photoshoots, helping to capture high-quality images that can be used for promotional purposes.

- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to ensure visuals align with the desired narrative and marketing goals.

 

Qualifications

1. Educational Background:

- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a diploma in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. This position is ideal for someone looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.

2. Design Proficiency:

- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Knowledge of other tools such as Canva, Figma, or video editing software is a plus.

- Demonstrated ability to create visually compelling and on-brand graphics across different media.

3. Social Media Acumen:

- Familiarity with social media marketing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) to track engagement and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

- Understanding of the nuances of different social media platforms, including best practices for content types and audience engagement.

4. Portfolio:

- A portfolio showcasing relevant design work, including social media graphics, event materials, and any other projects demonstrating creative skills and aesthetic sensibilities.

5. Communication Skills:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively to team members and external partners.

6. Team Player with Initiative:

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. Shows initiative and creativity in problem-solving and contributing to team projects.

7. Passion for the Industry:

- A genuine interest in event planning, weddings, and the creative processes behind them. A desire to learn about the industry's latest trends and best practices.
