Job Summary
Internships at Allison+Partners are more than coffee runs. Our interns are fully integrated into the office and account teams. We look for college seniors or graduates who can intern 5 days per week for at least three months. We view this as a test run before you join the Allison family.
We are looking for self-starters who will roll up their sleeves and help with whatever is thrown their way. This could be organizing the office; getting the team and office ready for a client or new business meeting; brainstorming a creative media mailer, sourcing the product, assembling and executing the mailing; doing first rounds of research, media list development and client reports; drafting media pitches and ultimately calling the media!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Tracks client and competitor stories in traditional, digital and social media
- Supports client campaigns on social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Executes media mailings and product deliveries
- Creates and maintains media lists, ongoing
- Brainstorms creative ideas
- Supports news announcement pitching and follow up with media via phone and email, as appropriate
- Provides support to four to five client accounts; work may include everything from researching and analyzing client media coverage to administrative support
- New business support including industry research, identifying media and influencer targets, materials development and execution (PowerPoint design, liaising with printer vendor, picking up and delivering necessary materials, etc.)
- Supports office management and organization (i.e. weekly supply orders, organizing supply closet, liaising with vendors, etc.)
- Upholds Allison+Partners’ core values
- Bills 145 hours of client work per month
Qualifications
- Someone who has an interest in, and enthusiasm for public relations, journalism and/or communications
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Knowledgeable in social media
- Enjoy working in collective, cross-office, team environment
- A quick learner with a relentless attention to detail
- A self-motivated multi-tasker and clear communicator, both written and verbal
