Overview
As the UI/UX Designer at Alola, you will play a critical role in shaping the look, feel, and interactivity of our platform. Your role is unique as you will be in working with both the technical and creative teams.
On the technical side, you will work closely with product managers, AI engineers, and front-end developers to create a seamless, intuitive, and immersive travel experience that encourages exploration and personalization. On the creative side, you will collaborate with the marketing team to design user interface elements that reflect marketing campaigns and brand values, ensuring consistency across marketing channels and the platform.
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating engaging user experiences that are not only beautiful but also highly functional for travellers around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Craft the design of Alola’s web and mobile user experience, creating immersive and intuitive interfaces.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups that visualize the user journey, ensuring a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
Design intuitive interfaces that allow users to easily customize their travel itineraries, interact with AI-powered suggestions, and make real-time bookings.
Collaborate with AI specialists and developers to ensure that the interface supports dynamic data inputs from APIs (e.g., flights, hotels, activities).
Incorporate user feedback and data-driven insights to continuously improve the platform’s UX.
Create design elements that reflect Alola’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across the platform.
Build and test interactive design elements that enhance the immersive experience (e.g., animated travel itineraries, drag-and-drop planners).
Work with the CMO and marketing team to ensure all designs align with brand campaigns and create marketing-driven design elements for the platform (e.g., banners, promo sections).
Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends and tools to continually innovate Alola’s platform.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in creating interactive and immersive experiences.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating intuitive and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Some xperience working with front-end developers to bring designs to life, including a strong understanding of HTML/CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Familiarity with interactive design patterns and user-centered design processes.
- Some xperience conducting usability tests, gathering user feedback, and iterating on designs is a plus
- Knowledge of interaction design principles and experience with motion design (e.g., Lottie, After Effects).
- Experience in building responsive and mobile-first designs.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- A passion for creating immersive, user-driven experiences.
- Experience in the travel industry or e-commerce platforms will be added advantage
