Ang Ku Kueh Girl is a design startup creating in-house characters under the label “Ang Ku Kueh Girl® and Friends”.
Our characters are designed to showcase a part of Asian culture and heritage in a light-hearted manner. We draw inspiration from local snacks, everyday life and historical events. Features of kuehs and interesting quirks of Singapore are subtly woven into our character designs.
We create and produce our own line of merchandise based on these characters. These products are functional and created with a whimsical touch to remind us about the joy and happiness of everyday life on our little island.
We also work with corporate and institutional clients on production of licensed products, corporate gifts and other marketing collaterals.
An illustrator is required as part of the team to:
- assist in character illustrations for products and other collaterals
- assist in research for the development of concept details
- assist in product design and drawings
- assist in operational and inventory matters
Our basic requirements are:
- proficiency in illustrator (a must)
- an advantage if you are good in Photoshop and inDesign
- enthusiastic and able to demonstrate skills in cute character poses and illustrations (an illustration test may be required)
- needs to be creative in coming up with social media concepts and ideas
- able to work well in a team as well as independently
- meticulous and careful
