Hello there, we’re looking for a new addition to our Development team at Appiloque. In your role, you’ll be building scalable, responsive and compelling websites and emails that work across a wide range of browsers and platforms. Of course, that has to come with scalable, standards-compliant code, and proper documentation. Debugging and troubleshooting are part of the job as well, so be eager to learn and improve on your product quality and reliability.
This is what you’ll do
- Work with Web Designers to translate mock-up concepts, wireframes, and design assets into HTML/CSS templates
- Day to day building and maintenance of websites, including front-end feature development, investigation and troubleshooting of bugs
- Ensure cross platform/browser compatibility (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) for websites and email browsers (GMail, Office365, MS Outlook 2013, etc)
- Adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, design and performance best practices (8-point grid, Laws of UX, PageSpeed Optimization)
- Write testable, maintainable, embracing applicable frameworks when appropriate
- Take part in site feasibility assessments and help build up company SOP
What we’re really looking for:
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
- Strong knowledge of front-end UI frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap (v4+), AngularJS (v6+), and Material Design (Web Components)
- Excellent source code management (Git), time management, problem solving, and organization skills
- Although paper qualifications are preferred (Preferred Degree/Diploma Course: Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems Related Courses), self-taught candidates with strong GitHub profiles are encouraged to apply
Bonus points for:
- Understanding of web standards and best practices including SEO and accessibility
- Familiarity with PHP, MySQL Databases and developing websites for popular CMSs e.g. WordPress (Methods & Functions)
- Strong design thinking mindset, with a keen eye for usability for mobile-responsive websites
