Traineeship Description:

The Junior Technician reports to the Senior Technician and Engineer.

The Junior Technician will be able to assist Senior Technician and Engineer in the rig fabrication & installation process relating to electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics & piping. The Junior Technician will be able to troubleshoot electronic / electrical control panels and Distribution Boxes.

Specific Responsibilities: 

• Trainee to be involved in:
• Installation of various electrical & electronics components relating to geotechnical equipments and derrick.
• Exposure and development of electrical diagrams and load diagrams.
• Assist Senior Technician in performing new equipment installations as well as perform mechanical installations and repairs. 
• Maintains records of electrical service reports
• Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn during SGUnited Traineeship Programme:
• Active participation in technical processes (including installation of electrical and mechanical components) relating to derrick and geotechnical drilling equipments.
• How to engage Company’s yard employees, offshore driller crews and clients professionally 
• Gain experience with development and understanding electrical circuit diagrams, electrical load analysis, development of engineering fabrication drawings 
• Installation of various gauges, equipments, joysticks, pressure sensors, control boxes, junction boxes and other components.

Highest Qualification:

• Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electronics. (preferred)
• Duration of Traineeship/s:
• Up to 9 months only
• Monthly Training Allowance:
• $1,500
