Boat Advisory Services Co (BASCO) was created to provide innovative services to leisure boating clients through four divisions:
- Buying
- Selling
- Sharing and
- Maintaining their boats.
The way boats are bought, sold, shared and maintained is changing and BASCO will provide boat owners and prospective boat owners “Innovation in leisure boat buying, selling and personalised advice”.
The company will be launched early January 2017 with the first service product from the:
- Maintenance division
- On-Board Documentation and Maintenance Scheduling service (ODAMS)
- Run your entire boats documentation (parts inventory, equipment, servicing, maintenance, trip logging and more) from your hand-held device
A new innovative service product will be released each month and the focus is on advisory services first, products second.
This is an exciting 6-month internship open to both Singapore residents and overseas students. Singapore has a 6-month Work Holiday Program visa available to nine countries, so if you are studying in these nine specific countries - Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom or United States and Singapore, you are welcome to apply. We regret that due to our new company, we are unable to hire from other countries other than those listed above.
The BASCO internship has two main aims:
1/ To find an innovative, IT and social media savvy student to help work on the product developments for the start up
2/ To work alongside the Basco Boat Advisor completing boat documentation services on board yachts.
The work location is in Asia’s finest marina club, One Degree 15 Marina Club, at Sentosa Cove, Singapore.
You must like boats and not get sea sick as work will be carried out on boats docked in the marina, so previous boat exposure is an advantage.
Job Description
To assist the director with the company start up in a number of areas for example:
- Yacht on-board documentation and reporting
- Meeting with clients (with director) and proposal writing
- Researching boating topics and providing insight from the research
- Data entry and CRM system updating
- Content writing for social media (we have a team to help on this)
- Basic maintenance tasks on board selected vessels (spot checking, updating checklists)
- Documenting boat appraisals and preparing reports
- Providing ideas and actions for getting the business up and running
- Providing administration support to the director
- Setting up business systems, dropbox, app developments etc
- Other tasks as required.
