As an intern, you’ll have the chance to play a key role in building the backbone of what will become one of the world’s largest food discovery platforms. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to design APIs, optimize database performance, and ensure system reliability. You won’t just be writing code; you’ll be crafting solutions that directly contribute to the greatness of BestFoody. What You'll Be Doing:

• As a member of the BestFoody Technologies team, you will have the opportunity to design and build the backend systems that power tomorrow's food discovery solutions, helping to revolutionize the dining and culinary experience across Asia and Greater China. 
• Collaborate with experienced software engineers on backend projects to design, develop, and optimize backend services that power the BestFoody platform.
• Contribute to developing features across the entire backend system, including APIs, microservices, and database solutions.
• Build and integrate components with in-house tools and technologies to improve data flow and enhance system performance.
• Develop software services that streamline data processing, improve quality, and support features like real-time recommendations, "Hidden Gems," and "Taste Matches."
• Work cross-functionally with teams to build tools, platforms, and automation processes to accelerate development workflows, improve system efficiency, and enhance cloud infrastructure.
• Write high-quality, efficient, and scalable code using Go (Golang) and other backend technologies.
• Participate in code reviews, adhering to and contributing to improving coding standards and best practices.
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and proactively identify and address potential issues to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, designers, and product managers, to design, implement, and test new features and improvements.
• Assist in integrating third-party services such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and AWS S3 to enhance the platform's capabilities.
• Support system reliability through debugging, testing, and performance monitoring, ensuring the backend infrastructure meets the demands of a growing user base.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and insights into challenges and solutions.

Requirements: 

• You are pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Formal education isn't a barrier here. If you are self-taught and have a passion for programming, we want to hear from you. Whether you are 5 or 85, pursuing a degree, or simply driven by curiosity and ambition, your skills and creativity are what matters most. At BestFoody, we've even had a 12-year-old Russian hacker contributing to our mission. If you've got the talent and determination to build something extraordinary, age and background mean absolutely nothing to us because we believe your work will speak for itself. 
• You have exposure to backend development concepts, including API design and database management.
• You are familiar with at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, or JavaScript).
• You have a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• You are eager to learn and contribute to building scalable backend systems in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have:

• A strong interest in or understanding of the F&B industry, with a passion for creating solutions that enhance food discovery and dining experiences.
• A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to approach challenges with a logical and user-focused perspective.
• A knack for translating complex technical insights into impactful backend solutions that power seamless user experiences.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and present ideas in a convincing and collaborative way.
• Good knowledge of mobile development in iOS (Objective-C and Swift)
• Good knowledge of mobile development in Android (Java and Kotlin) 
• Ability to speak Chinese or Vietnamese is preferred but not essential, as it helps in collaborating with our diverse team across Asia.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with backend development in Golang, database management, or cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles, showing an understanding of how backend systems support front-end functionality and user journeys.
