Job Description

1. To carry out routine course administration

1.1 Ensure the smooth running of the course

1.1.1 Liase with customers/schools/corporate groups on booking of course dates/payment, etc

1.2 Ensure that course documentation, including Intended Learning Outcomes, is clearly specified and that any course changes go through the appropriate approval procedures

1.3 Ensure that booklets/materials and the Blackboard site are ready when required for instructors of the course

1.4 Deal with questions and problems which arise related to the course

1.5 Work with the relevant instructors to create efficient systems to support the course

1.6 Act as a communication channel between the relevant instructors, the trainers teaching the course and the team, informing them on course matters, especially dates

1.7 Ensure that the course is being run in accordance with general departmental guidelines

1.8 Liaise closely with the instructors for the course to ensure the smooth running of the course overall

1.9 Contribute to the moderation process for final course results

2. To ensure that the course is delivered effectively

2.1 Ensure that staff teaching the course are clearly informed about what is required of them through inductions and/or individual meetings as appropriate

2.2 Provide ongoing guidance to instructors teaching the course and deal with any questions and problems

2.3 Monitor the progress of the course and provide feedback to instructors if required

2.4 Encourage instructors teaching the course to exchange ideas and provide support for each other

2.5 Help provide assessment briefing and standardization support for instructors

3. To plan and implement the design and development of the course syllabus and materials

3.1 Update/improve booklets, related materials and the Blackboard site on a regular basis

3.2 Collect feedback to identify areas for major improvement and lead the process to seek approval and funding to support any recommended changes

3.3 Oversee the implementation of any approved projects

4. To administer ongoing quality assurance 

4.1 Collect feedback on the course from a variety of sources, in order to identify areas for improvement, both in terms of syllabus and materials design and administrative systems.

4.2 Ensure that the course complies with any general requirements specified by the department

4.3 Deal with any problems identified with respect to course delivery by either providing feedback to the staff member concerned, or reporting the problem to the relevant instructors

4.4 Support the quality assurance of other courses within the team by providing constructive feedback on course materials and assessments in development

5. To supply information to the Blueprint Climbing Pte Ltd management team to support the planning and reporting processes 

5.1 Analyse feedback and statistical data and report on the course each year

5.2 Identify any general training needs related to the course and pass the information to the TD Committee

5.3 Identify any large-scale development needs and bid for development time as appropriate

6. To support the work of the team beyond your immediate course responsibility

6.1 Actively participate in the planning and development processes within the team

6.2 Take on supporting administrative duties with respect to other courses as required.

6.3 Where appropriate, take on project development work to support the achievement of the team’s aims
