Seeking candidates who have a degree in computer drafting and design or are currently pursuing their degree. Some Civil CAD experience preferred. Applicants must be willing to undergo a test to demonstrate the level of CAD knowledge and ability.
The person in this position will use basic computer drafting techniques to generate design layout drawings for various projects.
- Visit job sites to field measure and collect data for design requirements.
- Perform AutoCAD drafting support in preparing layout, schedules, diagrams and detail drawings from Designer’s sketches or notes using AutoCAD. Revit is a plus.
- Read blueprints, as-builts and be able to interpret civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering drawings.
- Understand drawing changes and able to coordinate and modify related drawings.
- Assist Project Manager in preparing meeting notes, project programming and project specifications.
- Assist Project Manager in doing technical reports, submittal reviews and documentation.
- Assist the Project Manager in documenting correspondence with clients, agencies and consultants regarding progress of work and answering questions.
- Understand company CAD standards and set-up.
- Research products and materials for implementation into the Material Handling System design.
- Attend project meetings and provide project status updates to Project Manager.
- Perform basic analytical tasks and calculations
- Produce and update single line diagrams and material flow diagrams
- Collaborate with Designers and Project Engineers to update existing drawing packages as needed.
- Participate in design review meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Verify that drawings match project specifications and requirements.
- Prepare and submit final drawings and design packages within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Assist in quantity measurement.
- Any ad hoc duties as assigned.
