Job Description

Operations Manager (Full-time internship)

Growth & Exposure

Being part of a small and lean social start-up means having a great deal of autonomy and creative opportunities that will help you grow. Your responsibilities will also motivate you to perform your best!

Impact

You will help us growing the BBB brand and raising more funds for classroom projects in some of the most underfunded schools in the world.

Oh, and you get to work in our cozy bookstore, with first dibs on all the good reads!

Here's what the role involves:

Customer care & Community support : As part of the ops team, you’ll be coordinating donations inquiries that we receive on a daily basis via our LIVE chat system. You'll guide our donors on how they can donate their books, and make the experience easy and fun for everyone.

Order Fulfillment : You'll fulfil and manage open orders from our online bookstore, ensuring our readers receive updates about their deliveries as quickly as possible.

Inventory & administrative: You will curate, sort, and manage hundreds of books, prepare them for our online store, The Book Barracks, and other outdoor events. You'll help us launch new campaigns so that we can continue to grow our community.

Leadership: You will help hire and on-board new part-timers, manage volunteers, and hone your leadership skills!

You have:

  • A love for reading
  • Working knowledge of Excel (e.g. able to use vlookup and other common Excel fuctions)
  • A habit of being really responsive and on-the-ball as things can be fast-paced sometimes
  • A good command of written and spoken English as you'll have to interact with customers
  • Some experience in eCommerce (this isn't a requirement, but it'll be a huge plus!)

We value people with:

  • High, positive energy
  • Independence and a strong work ethic
  • Confidence and ambition
