Officially established in 1872, B.P. de Silva Jewellers is amongst Singapore’s first luxury labels. The brand's rich heritage and legacy can be traced back to the 19th century when the Founder, Balage Porolis de Silva, set sail from Ceylon and travelled across the world before settling down in Singapore to open the first B.P. de Silva Jewellers Atelier on the prestigious High Street.
B.P. de Silva also received royal patronage as members of royal families commissioned the brand to create special heirlooms. The brand's first royal commission was by the Duke of Connaught (pictured above). B.P. de Silva also received the great honour of being the appointed purveyor of jewellery to His Majesty, The King of Siam. Our story still being told today at the National Museum of Singapore's History Gallery.
Today, B.P. de Silva Jewellers is in its 5th generation, and is celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2022. You will play a key role in supporting the Marketing & Creative teams. Your day-to-day operations may look like this:
- Conceptualisation and ideation of visual assets for use across digital and traditional platforms.
- Assisting in executing brand’s social media & digital strategies.
- Coordinating with relevant parties and agencies to ensure consistency in brand strategy across all channels.
- Tracking performance of content and growth of platforms and assisting in analysis.
- Competitor analysis.
- Market trends and consumer psychology research.
- Daily monitoring of social channels and participating in meaningful conversations with clients through social and digital channels.
- Copywriting.
- Assisting in web design and management including input of product photography, descriptions, imagery etc. onto shopify.
- Assisting in influencer and media relations.
- Assisting in photography, and videography, as well as all ad-hoc operations.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Currently pursuing degree in Business (Marketing)
- Initiative and resilience.
- A stickler for the proper use of grammar and respectful communication.
- Familiarity with social media tools; honestly, even better if you love it.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience in video production and/or video editing tools such as iMovie, Premiere Pro etc.
- Experience with e-commerce and SEO is an advantage.
- An eye for luxury, and its nuances.
- The ability to prioritise work, and complete tasks diligently in a fast-paced environment.
- The drive to work well with a team, and/or on their own.
- The willingness to learn beyond their field of specialty.
