We are looking for a Business Development Intern to join our recommerce team to validate and bring to life the business models we’re experimenting with.
The recommerce team is a cross-functional team working intensively to introduce new product features, processes and business models to facilitate transactions, or more plainly, an e-commerce experience on Carousell.
A Carousell internship is unlike any other. Our interns are quick on their feet, resourceful, adaptable and learn a heck lot in a short amount of time. If you're looking to make an impact and get your hands dirty with a myriad of opportunities, this is the adventure for you.
This is a 6 months full-time internship position. You should be able to commit full time (8 hours a day), and will be based in the Singapore office.
You Will:
Learn how to plan, execute, and pivot growth experiments with new business models in a start-up environment.
Get hands-on experience in experimenting new business models
Work cross functionally with representatives from product, engineering, marketing, customer support, legal, finance and sales and partnerships.
Be an integral part of the team responsible for merchant success, supply, and listing quality within a new business area, and hence be part of the team who shapes how this experiment will translate into a finalized product within the selected categories in Carousell
1/ Merchant success, supply, and listing quality
Help drive merchants success and listing quality in defined focus categories
Support the teams planning the experiment to increase listing quality and conversion rates
Train participating merchants to increase their performance
Work closely with the team to identify, create, and execute playbooks in this category to drive merchant success
2/ Shape the future product of Carousell.
Help pivot the experiments until we achieve product-market fit
Assist in product development based on experiment learnings
You Have:
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Strong project management skills and ability to adhere to tight timelines
Organised, meticulous and detail-oriented
Have good problem-solving skills
Proactive and can-do attitude—not afraid to get your hands dirty
Cultural sensitivity to work in a regional role with different country teams
Background in fashion retail or interest in fashion is strongly preferred
Previous internship experience in growth marketing/growth hacking, new product development, or from start-ups is a plus but not mandatory.
A Carousell user and/or familiar with using the Carousell app and its features (include your Carousell username in your application!)
