Job Description
We are currently focused on expanding our readership presence and strengthening our Editorial team.  You will  report directly to the General Manager. This position is an excellent way to gain experience in interviewing, writing and understanding market insights and possibly leading to a career in the industry. As well as opportunities to progress with us into a permanent position, this training provides important skills that are easily transferable to future employment.

As a journalist intern, you should be currently studying or has recently graduated in journalism or communications at a degree level or either be studying towards a professional qualification.

You will be responsible for:
  • Research, interview and write for our digital platform.
  • Helping with the development of our Search Engine Optimisation strategy by using techniques including, but not exclusive to, Keyword Research, Copy Optimisation, Social Media, Blogging and Link Building.
  • Creating and optimising Landing Pages (On-Page and Off-Page)
  • Compiling data analysis reports using Google Analytics and SEOmoz
  • Salesforces.com build and cleanse
Essential skills and requirements:
  • An understanding of the principles of journalism and social media, preferably with some experience
  • An understanding of data analysis and Analytics (Google Analytics)
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • An understanding of Social Media sites and their importance for SEO
Desirable qualities:
  • You will be a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You will have the willingness, commitment, initiative and enthusiasm to immerse yourself in the world of online marketing
  • The ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines is crucial

You will receive full training on our market and audience.  You will be encouraged to help us develop new social media strategies, therefore developing your skills and knowledge in the field.
