Job Description

Editorial Fellow

Are you fascinated by the work of senior government officials? Would you like to understand what really happens in the corridors of power? Could you explain how new technologies are changing the way that governments work?

If so, GovInsider has the perfect opportunity. We are looking for an ambitious writer to interview City Mayors, Government Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Hospital Chief Executives and University Vice Chancellors.

Requirements

You need to be driven, enthusiastic and fascinated by the work of public sector officials. Our readers include Prime Ministers and Chief Executives, so attention to detail is vital. It is also essential that you are willing to experiment, learn new skills and continually expand our readership.

We are looking for motivated self-starters who take responsibility and push themselves.

Role

As an editorial intern at GovInsider you would:

  1. Interview government officials
  2. Write breaking news stories
  3. Source story leads
  4. Manage interview bids
  5. Commission blog posts and third party contributions
  6. Research viable topics for a successful conference
  7. Write conference session synopsis
  8. Manage speaker invitations
  9. Build interactive graphics and maps using data
  10. Contribute to all written output on GovInsider.Asia

We are looking for someone with:

  1. Written and verbal fluency
  2. Demonstrable interest in writing or public policy
  3. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new skills
