We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Ad-Hoc Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to work remotely most of the time, with occasional on-site client meetings as required. As an individual contributor, you will collaborate directly with the management team to design, develop, and implement hardware solutions tailored to client specifications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Design and Development: Create detailed schematics and layouts for electronic circuits, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), processors, memory modules, and network components.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Assemble and test hardware prototypes to validate design concepts, ensuring functionality and performance meet specified requirements.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their hardware requirements, providing technical expertise and recommendations to develop customized solutions.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals, to support manufacturing and client understanding.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to align hardware designs with project goals, timelines, and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
  • Understanding of signal processing and data acquisition.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and teamwork.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FPGA design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with simulation and testing tools for hardware validation.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid Model: Primarily remote work with occasional on-site client meetings in Singapore.
  • Flexible Hours: Manage your schedule to meet project deadlines and client needs.
