Conjoined – Storyteller (Video – for Tiktok / Social)

Your job scope will entail:

1) Interviewing participants - whether spontaneous or scheduled, in scenic surroundings

2) Requesting participants to answer a random question cards from Conjoined

3) Film & Edit selected videos for IG and Tiktok format. We have a very specific style guide (https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS8WBYWG4/)

4) The videos produced are for IG/TikTok and should last around 30s - 2min

The hours for this role are fully flexible - you get to decide your own working hours, and we trust you to get your tasks done in a way that works for you. We're looking for roughly 16 hours (2 days/week) of work, with a target of 30 videos/interviews a week (which is very achievable with 1min videos!). And don’t worry, we will discuss and agree on targets - this is a very flexible role.

The renumeration for this role is $1250 nett per month (for 2 days/week). We understand that this is a part-time position, and we appreciate your commitment to working with us for six months. There's no pressure to stay on if you don’t feel it’s working out for you, but we do ask that you give us 2 weeks' notice and do your best. We also have many advancement opportunities into full-time positions in digital marketing, social media management, and country manager roles, so there's plenty of room for growth!

Now, let's talk about the requirements for this role. There are no academic requirements required, but you must be well-spoken and proficient in English. You also need to be presentable and extroverted since you'll be meeting a ton of strangers on a daily basis! And lastly - and most importantly - you absolutely need to be able to produce kickass 1min videos for social media.

Storyteller Video Selection Criteria / What we look for:

1) the ability to judge optimal ambience/setting/lighting to produce a beautiful video. It doesn’t need to be fancy at all, interviewing a senior in her favourite rocking chair is a wonderful idea; but we want to see that you get the angles, perspective and lighting correct.

2) the ability to conduct and facilitate the interview with sincerity, kindness & empathy. 

3) the ability to get people to open up and tell their stories from a place of authenticity. Strangers just don’t open up to anyone! We all very reasonably have our guard up. It’s important that you know how to engage with people in a way that enables them to let their guard down.

4) the ability to cut, edit and annotate a video to an appropriate 30s-2min length that best brings out the story

We will not publish any of the videos you’ve sent in because we don’t believe in asking for free work. Submitting these 1min videos is purely for us to know how good you are at video production.
