Launch in 2024, Convalesce Labs brings together a team of interdisciplinary professionals and consumers with lived experience to co-design and develop innovative interventions including subtle triaging, early intervention and therapeutic responses, to assist people experiencing mental health crisis.

Job Description

The Convalesce Labs is looking to hire a permanent, fixed-term contract Co-Design Lived Experience Lead. 

This is a designated lived expertise role that will lead and manage the design of deep technologies and social policies. 

The strategic and implementation drive of Convalesce Labs is informed by lived experiences, intersectionality, best practices and social justice. You will lead the Lived Experience Design and Development team, and bring specialist knowledge in mental health or behavioural science and practical skills in service design, co-production, and participatory design methodologies to support innovation and strategic growth.

A regular day will see you:

  • Lead the successful delivery of the lived experience collective project;
  • Facilitate co-design workshops with people with lived experience;
  • Undertake research of mental health trends, phenomena, behaviours; and
  • Present themes, findings and outcomes to the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimally a Diploma of Psychology, Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing, Public Health and/ or related fields;
  • Experience in group facilitation, research, evaluation and project management skills involving multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of co-design and working closely with those with lived experience.
  • Strong research experience and evaluation, program design and implementation approaches across a broad range of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop evidence-based advice. 
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work in professional, social and intimate settings with a wide range of audiences.

The hourly remuneration is between $18.75 - $23.50 per hour.
