Purpose of the job:
MKTG is a global experiential and lifestyle marketing agency, dedicated to creating experiences that build communities and humanize brands.
We are looking for a graphic designer who can work with the regional APAC team to create exciting, beautiful and exciting campaigns.
There won’t be one specific project that you will be assigned. You will support across multiple projects – each with their own set of deliverables and objectives. You will receive broad exposure to a variety of clients in different industries, assisting with various tasks on each.
In general, typical duties that you will be tasked with include:
• DESIGN – There’s a lot of graphic design work, whether we’re putting together a pitch deck, designing a website, repositioning a sports brand, or creating a suite of flat files for a festival. We need someone who is technically sound and fast at 2D. If you also do 3D, we need to talk.
• PITCHING IN - with the Creative department - creating concepts, developing presentations and presenting ideas both internally and direct to clients.
• LEARNING YOUR CRAFT - not just in design but across a wide range of creative disciplines from a range of different sources.
• SAYING ‘YES’ a lot - no two days are going to be the same, and we’ll be looking for you to help across a range of different things. It’s a small team so we all wear multiple hats.
You will have exposure to and support each step of the entire campaign life cycle – pitching/proposal, pre-event work, event execution, post-event recapping and evaluation. By the end of the internship, you should be familiar with each of these stages and have an understanding of the tasks involved at each level.
You Are:
…a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed designer/art director/all-round creative ready to take on the world. You’re looking to get into your first role, so either you’re fresh out of school or jumping ship from a different industry.
You’re a digital/social native, but you know that good ideas go well beyond channels and you’re as comfortable with through-the-line campaigns as you are social calendars.
You don’t like labels; you’re at home generating ideas and developing great design, but you’ve also dipped a toe in everything from art direction to photography. You want to learn how to wear a range of hats, and you get how important strategy is for great creative.
You’ll be curious. We don’t expect or want you to know everything, so you won’t be afraid to ask big questions.
You’ve got strong opinions, big ideas and you’re not prepared to compromise on quality. You’re ambitious and entrepreneurial and you’re prepared to take risks creatively and help push us and our clients.
You’ll have an interest (and preferably a little expertise) in a few other creative disciplines. If you have a banging Instagram or you write slam poetry, we want to know.
Qualifications:
•You’ll be technically proficient in visual design. Yes, this means Adobe Creative Suite.
•Team player who can work with all departments and clients
•Quick thinking and adaptability are essential
•Able to balance great work with meeting deadlines/budget
•Strong presentation skills, both internally and to client and multi-agency groups on a regular basis
•Have a strong interest in marketing, especially experiential and lifestyle
•Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a tertiary education institution (University, Polytechnic)
