Draper Startup House is on a mission to support and enable ONE MILLION ENTREPRENEURS. We were founded in 2018 under the name Tribe Theory with our first location in Singapore. Fast forward, we are now backed by one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent venture capitalists Tim Draper and renamed ourselves to Draper Startup House. You can find a Draper Startup House in eleven countries in the world (Asia, Europe and USA) and we are rapidly becoming the go-to place for entrepreneurs. Under the roof of our locations we offer these entrepreneurs a full ecosystem support system, including helping them raise investment, entrepreneurship-related education, services to help build their businesses, and a thriving community with engaging events.
What you would work on:
With our business foundation set up, we are ready for phase two: rapidly taking over the world, ensuring we have a Draper Startup House in every entrepreneurship hotspot in the world. Our second phase of growth will come through licensing agreements or franchising setups with existing businesses around the world. We will be looking at existing hostels, cafes, coworking spaces, co-living buildings, or hotels and ask them to join our network as embassies of entrepreneurship. We need your help on this. You’ll be working closing together with our people, and the team’s responsibilities will include the following (not limited to)
Developing the licensing proposition (design book, operational guidelines, brand book)
Sourcing and selecting potential partners (research on best cities, shortlisting potential venues, reaching out to potential partners, setting up first agreements)
Developing roll out plan (prioritization, onboarding plans, funding requirements)
When you leave, we hope to have confirmed at least some new licensing agreements with locations anywhere in the world. This is a role where things will get real and you will have a real impact on the future of a growing startup.
Who you are:
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to get their hands dirty and learn the ins and outs of the startup world. You are a self-starter, comfortable working independently, setting your own schedule, and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone. You are professional and organized. You speak fluent English and communicate clearly. You bring positive energy and are creative when facing setbacks. You are eager to learn and actively solicit feedback to become a better professional. You are familiar with standard business software (e.g. Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Slack, etc).
What we offer:
You will be working remotely from whichever location you prefer as long as you have a few hours a day overlap with our team in Singapore. The role can be full-time or part-time, 2-3 months (negotiable). You will receive an industry-competitive intern compensation package. We will ensure you will receive the right mentoring from our senior people and you will be directly working with our founder and leadership team.
