drpanda is a upcoming sole proprietorship that focused on delivering skilled and competent support workers to people with disabilities (PWD) or people in need of professionally-trained workers at a competitively-priced rate. We also focused on establishing subsidiaries that involve the research, development and manufacturing of emerging technologies to help improve quality of life.
drpanda is looking to hire an allied health or nursing student, with an interest in working with an elderly female with mild cognitive impairments, poor mobility and poor dietary intake. The locality of the job is mainly residential, with the occasion of working with the care recipient within a hospital, facility or clinic.
Ideally you would possess the following:
- Currently a student studying in ITE, Polytechnic or University and majoring in nursing, allied health or medicine, or
- Recently a graduate majoring in a healthcare-related discipline, and
- You are able to read and write in English and converse in Mandarin, Hokkien or Cantonese.
The job would involve the following responsibilities:
- Undertake the measurement of blood pressure (standing and lying down) and blood glucose levels (pre-meal);
- Undertake and assist with morning walks (to the park and back), assist with both active and passive exercises to strengthen muscles, range of movement and control, and simple trigger-point and deep tissue massage of affected areas whilst ensuring preventive falls measures are in placed;
- Administer pre-pack medications (after meals),
- Prepare and serve meals and drinks, according to the dietary plan or help to purchase meals and drinks;
- Ensure that observations, findings and areas of concerns are documented within the progress notes; ensure that all other documentations are filled in accordingly (observation chart, meal chart, fluid balance/bowel chart); and
- Provide medical escort to medical appointments at Changi General Hospital on Fridays, undertake handovers from the treatment and/ or nursing team, document discussion and escalate to the employer, if necessary.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the employer or recipient.
The available and preferred shifts are from Monday to Thursday, from 8am to 11am, (potentially extending to 12pm) and Friday from 8am to 3pm. If you're unable to commit to all of the days, you may choose some of the days.
The remuneration is based on qualification and experience, up to $14.00 per hour. The ability to work remotely is sometimes required, you will be compensated between $8 - $10, up to 2 hours a week.
