ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Social Media & Visual Content Design Intern to support our brand's digital presence and visual storytelling. This role combines content creation, visual design, photography, and website management—offering hands-on experience in developing engaging content that builds our online community and showcases our products effectively. The ideal candidate is a tertiary student pursuing a design-related qualification with strong photography skills, excellent visual sensibility, and proficiency in social media content creation.
The intern will work directly under the guidance of our Creative Director, following their creative vision and direction while learning professional workflows. Strong ability to take instruction, implement feedback, and adapt to the brand's established aesthetic is essential. This internship provides valuable industry experience in a collaborative environment with the potential for full-time opportunities based on performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Creation
- Assist in creating and curating engaging social media content across platforms
- Design eye-catching graphics, stories, reels, and posts that drive audience engagement
- Help develop content calendars and implement social media campaigns
- Support community management by responding to comments and messages under guidance
Photography & Visual Design
- Conduct high-quality product photography sessions with attention to styling, lighting, and composition
- Edit photos to professional standards using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Create consistent visual assets that align with our brand identity and aesthetic
- Assist in developing visual merchandising materials for digital and physical retail environments
Website Management
- Update product listings on Shopify with compelling descriptions, specifications, and imagery
- Write and edit product copy that conveys brand voice and product benefits according to Creative Director's guidelines
- Ensure website visual content remains fresh and aligned with current campaigns
- Assist with basic Shopify website updates and maintenance as needed
- Implement changes and updates as directed by the Creative Director
Content Development
- Help develop written and visual content for email marketing campaigns
- Support the creation of digital lookbooks and product catalogs
- Contribute creative ideas for content that enhances brand storytelling
Pop-Up & Event Support
- Assist in shooting content during brand events, pop-ups and workshops.
- Participate in weekend events and special launches as part of the learning experience.
Who We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Visual Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Photography, or related fields
- Strong portfolio demonstrating photography, design, and digital content creation skills
- Understanding of social media trends and digital marketing principles
- Excellent eye for detail, composition, and visual storytelling
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms
- Receptive to direction and feedback with a willingness to iterate on work
- Ability to follow established brand guidelines and creative direction
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail when implementing requested changes
Technical Skills Required:
- Design Software: Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent design tools
- Photography: Excellent photography skills including composition, lighting, and advanced photo editing capabilities
- Video Editing: Experience creating and editing short-form video content for social media
- Web Platforms: Familiarity with Shopify e-commerce platform and content management systems
- Social Media Tools: Knowledge of content scheduling tools, analytics platforms, and best practices for major social networks
- Copy Writing: Ability to write clear, engaging copy for various digital channels
- Flexibility: Willing to work some weekends when required as part of the learning experience.
