 EDF Lab Singapore is looking for a talent to work with our cross-disciplinary research team in developing smart grid solutions. This role will provide you a unique opportunity to work on projects involving microgrid (consisting of solar panel, battery storage system, diesel generator etc.) and machine learning (regression, neural network, gradient descent etc.). You will be focusing on applying the state-of-the-art deep reinforcement learning methods into the application of microgrid to achieve the optimal coordination among different power equipment and achieve the least cost of operation and emissions.

Job Description

Key responsibilities 

• Review the existing control strategies of microgrid in literature 

• Be responsible to modify and develop reinforcement learning models for microgrid 

• Train and test the models with real measurement and synthetic data 

• Compare the performance of different reinforcement learning models 

• Demonstrate clear presentation of modelling and optimization assumptions and results

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or other related discipline 

• Strong interest or experience in machine learning and programming (e.g. Python, R) 

• Familiar with electrical equipment, power automation, energy management 

• Passionate about renewable energy industry and energy transition 

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 

• Eligible to work in Singapore 

• Able to commit at least 3 months, full-time or part-time, and start before April
