With strong ambitions on electric mobility, EDF Lab is growing its teams to develop innovative solutions & services for Asian markets. The selected candidate will support our team in Singapore as front-end developer & software development project manager.

Job Description

The R&D Software development engineer will work in the e-mobility team and will work closely with internal teams to iterate and rapidly prototype Electric Vehicle solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • New digital services development including rapid prototyping to create value
  • Work on design, adaptation and development of smart-charging web-applications, supervision solutions and Smartphone apps.
  • Explore Carbon credits and Decentralized Finance by developing innovative solutions for the future of energy linked with Renewable Energy Certificates and Blockchain.
  • Enhance existing solutions developed by our research team with your knowledge in user experience and visual design: the output of your work will be functioning prototypes ready to be productionised!
  • Develop and manage IT system architectures linked to energy and smart grids (solar panels, lithium-ion battery, electric mobility, energy efficiency…), within a team of 2-3 developers

You will be evolving in a constant learning environment, being in interaction with several international teams (China, Europe and US) and participate to internal hackathons. You will work mainly on e-mobility projects but you will also be able to contribute to smart grid, digital and energy management projects.

You don’t need to tick all the following boxes to apply, but an eagerness to learn is crucial. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree ideally in Computer Science, software engineering, information technology or related fields. Master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience as software developer with solid Front-end knowledge :
    • JavaScript and frameworks such as React, Vue, Ember, Angular and Node,
    • Experience in Mobile and/or web development, React (web) and ReactNative (mobile),
    • Experience or interest with all aspects of design, specifying and architecting technical solutions such as RESTful web services.
    • Would be a plus:
      • Experience with database technologies and methodologies.
      • Experience on ThingsBoard platform
  • Experience or Interest in Software development Project Management
  • Knowledge or appetite for clean energy, electric mobility, smart cities and decarbonisation
  • A strong curiosity for smart technologies, digital and innovative projects
  • Teamwork oriented / Ability to work in a diverse, international and cross-disciplinary research and development environment
  • Good communication skills and teamwork
  • Professional writing (technical report, tender proposal…) and good communication / presenting skills (reporting to internal management and external customers…)
  • Autonomous and curious
