Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Understand and appreciate the set up and the roles and responsibilities of a solar developer’s asset management, operation and maintenance function
  • Assist in interpreting layout drawings of Photovoltaic (PV) systems, electrical wiring diagrams such as Single Line Diagram (SLD), PV System Simulation (PVSyst) reports, 3D Shading Analyses, and ForgeSolar Glare Analyses.
  • Understand local regulations (e.g. SCDF, HDB, BCA, CAAS) for Solar systems’ installations, operation and maintenance.
  • Learn about the components that make up Solar PV installations, conduct review of solar PV system design and identify what are deemed as correct and adequate installations.
  • Identify the types of faults or defects that can / are occurring on PV installations and how to fix or rectify them.
  • Support hands-on administering of the Inspections, Checklists, fault rectifications and replacement work.
  • Learn how to use basic or specific tools for site or office work.
  • Learn how to use monitoring platform to identify faults and fixes.
  • Acquire knowledge on basic programming and troubleshooting of communication devices
  • Participate and learn the admin, data entry, emails, meetings and projects aspects of the job.
  • Obtain Work-At-Height certification in order to assist in the conduct of site works.
  • Assist to investigate non-conformances (if any) using in-house approach.
  • Towards the end of internship, to create “lessons-learnt” slides to improve quality/productivity of the PV Installations and other things that were learnt on the job.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Students from Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering
  • Ability to work with the team and within tight deadlines
  • Willing to learn and have a sense of ownership.
  • Comply fully with safety requirements during work
  • Familiar with and able to use AUTOCAD, PV SYST, MS OFFICE
