EL Connect Pte Ltd – Backend Web Developer

We are looking for an analytical, results-driven backend web developer who has outstanding programming skills and a great passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. As a backend web developer, you’ll work closely with our project coordinator to ensure system consistency and improve current backend applications and processes.

Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet your company’s needs.

Responsibilities

To succeed as a backend web developer, you will be responsible for the server side of our web applications and writing the web services and APIs used by front-end developers and mobile application developers. You should be knowledgeable, collaborative, and motivated.

• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
• Main focus on coding and debugging
• Collaborate with Front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives
• Build high-quality reusable code and libraries that can be used in the future
• Write clean code to develop functional and sustainable web applications
• Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Stay up to date with current best practices
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
• Perform UI tests to optimize performance

Requirements and Qualifications

• Fluency or understanding of specific languages, such as Node.js, Laravel, or Python, and operating systems may be required
• Familiarity with front-end languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
• Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field
