Working as a dynamic engineer that ensures the availability and utility of software applications deployed on EnOS platform. The job scope can involve application monitoring, respond to alerts, answer user queries, work with dev team to provide permanent fixes to issues. Since most of these applications are external facing, there is also rising need to handle communications to external customers and partners.

 

This role requires individuals who are comfortable with the responsibility of running the software used by the entire business. As your contribution and knowledge grows, your exposure to IOT fields and business domains will grow.

Responsibilities

 

As a support engineer, the focus of the job scope is to support team to ensure stable production environment and improve the operations process by documenting issues encountered

 

• Analyse issues encountered and provide viable workaround, if any. Scan through application log files to debug the issue encountered where applicable.

• Escalate issues with no viable workarounds

• Document operations tasks and processes with guidance from operations lead.

• Able to follow instructions from operations lead and perform simple troubleshooting.

Requirement

 

Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

• Basic Java, Javascript, or Python developer skill

• Understanding of Unix shell script. Hands-on exposure in shell scripting may be required

• Able to analyse output from monitoring tools

• Problem solving mindset, able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Able to follow standard operating procedure (SOP) and trouble shooting guide

 

Good to have

• Understand Containerized software deployment pattern (e.g. Kubernetes)

• Good communication skills, able to handle client comments and internal comments

• Speaking, reading in Chinese is a bonus, as majority of development and other backend support teams are Chinese speaking

• Understanding of IoT concept is a bonus

• Documentation skills – to track issue workaround/resolution and contribute to operations knowledge base

• Basic understanding of ITIL guidelines is a bonus
