Our company (ETBio, www.etbio.org) harnesses the power of microorganisms to clean the air and enable sustainable human survival. Our first product that is currently in development is a microalgae air purifier for generation of fresh air, while also removing carbon dioxide and other air pollutants. Our first plan is to deploy these devices in office spaces, not only to increase cognitive function and improve workplace productivity, but also to reduce the building ventilation cost associated with removal of carbon dioxide.
At first, we plan to sell this product in the form of a stand-alone device (akin to a normal air purifier). Eventually, once this technology is developed to a high enough level, we will integrate it with the building ventilation system for even larger scale carbon dioxide removal. At this stage, we will be able to regularly harvest the algae grown in the ventilation systems for production of other products (e.g. sustainable aquaculture feed, biofertilizers, high-value derivatives). Furthermore, in the future we can also use this technology to purify (not only the indoor air), but the air outdoors on a city-scale.
But our grand vision for this technology is to use this device to convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, enabling human survival on Mars and other planets beyond.
We are searching for a technician/intern to help us grow and maintain our stocks of microalgae, and also help in general maintenance of the lab. Furthermore, the technician/intern will help in the optimization of the growth media for higher yield growth of microalgae. We are searching for someone who is independent, hardworking, responsible and a fast learner.
