Established in 1966, the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA) is working to make all aspects of insurance easier and more effective for consumers, agents and insurance companies in Singapore.
As a Trade Association, GIA's role is to be active in the business community representing the interests of its member companies. GIA helps identify emerging trends and responds to issues affecting the General Insurance industry. It seeks to promote the overall growth and development of the General Insurance sector in Singapore.
GIA encompasses all non-life insurance companies transacting business in Singapore. We are also constantly in the process of improving and achieving our mission and structure to ensure that it continues to meet the business needs of its member companies.
The Interns' dundamental components of job (but not limited to):
1) Market & competitor research and analysis
o Perform research and analysis on legislative, competitive and industry issues to recommend new products. Participate in idea generation for the development of new products and product enhancements. Gather, analyze and run product comparison.
2) Customer profiling
o Conduct research and analysis to gather actionable insights on customers. May participate and/or conduct focus group sessions in support of customer profiling.
3) Product design, pricing and proposition development
o Analyze related consumer health insurance trends. Participate in the development of product design, pricing and proposition based on business requirements.
4) Analysis of distribution methods
o Perform web research on direct to consumer distribution methods. Write reports and present findings internally, under the direction of a manager.
