Job Description 

Merchandising Role 

• Assessing customer’s portal to download tech packs to review with respective internal sales team. 
• Issue SRFs for designs that customers selected in meetings. 
• Learn different fibre/fabric content, fabric constructions and fabric weights. 
• Visiting the fabric mill and factory in Malaysia to check on development and bulk orders. 
• Sending out samples and swatches to customers based on their selections. 

PDND Role 

• Support design team on new developments for growth pillar two. 
  • Draw sketches. 
  • Measure samples.
  • Prepare design detail sheet (DDS). 
  • Source and order fabrics and trims. 
  • Take photos of samples. 
  • Sending packages to clients or to sample rooms. 
• Creating Market Intelligence reports and trim boards (if needed). 
• Printing any presentation materials needed for our clients. 
• Creating and labeling RFID stickers on all incoming development and market samples. 
• Learn to draw technical drawings in order to prepare sample request forms. 
• Photographing of samples, ironing, and compiling into powerpoint slides or excel spreadsheets. 
• Learn to set up, digital scan and create link for virtual showroom for buyer’s meetings. 
• Learn how to write a basic email and create email signature. 
• Participate in physical meetings with Ghim Li clients for more exposure. 
• Create fabric boards by season: 
  • Design fabric board 
  • Shortlist the fabrics. 
  • Categorize fabrics based on its construction and by mill. 
  • Create the information into the stickers Excel sheet. 
• Use 'pinky shears' tool to cut fabrics. 
• Cut out the fabrics using the template 10x 10cm. 
• Cut the whole piece for full repeat AOP (All Over Print). 
  • Print stickers. 
  • Stick labels on fabric. 
  • Position on the Fabric Boards. 
  • Seek your direct supervisor to review first, then consolidate the final review.
  • For fabric that curl up easily reinforce with scotch tapes at four angles. 
  • Paste on fabric boards. 
  • Label outside of Fabric Boards
