● Project Description:
The role would revolve around making Roposo Clout sustainable for expansion globally from a tech point of view. Currently we source and ship products in India. Since we aim to expand globally, we want our systems to support sourcing and shipping all around the world.
● Project Impact / Outcomes:
To build such a technical structure/product that could incorporate the diversity of different terms and conditions of different countries, cater to the comfort level of suppliers and drop shippers all around the world without impacting there day to day working and not have much dependencies on third parties or aggregators like Clickpost (we currently use for shipping) to make the experience native for our stakeholders and keep the control completely in our hands regarding the operations which is essential when you are working on such huge scale of orders.
● Proposed Project Deliverables:
Developing and managing a global sourcing and drop shipping product with base as Roposo Clout that works for India and starting US currently
Having direct integrations with the shipping partners all around the world to provide the best experience for the end customer as well as our stakeholders
Ensuring setting up communication channels for our customers to provide the order update, tracking via WhatsApp, Email and other modes. This would later evolve into different vernacular challenges as well.
Capitalising on Ad monetisation and figuring out ways to leverage the huge exposure
One would also need to understand the compliance, privacy, security aspects of different markets
● Targeted Skills Gained/Enhanced:
The one very big upskill would be how to develop such a product which could cater such variety of requirement with minimum customisation for maximum efficiency.
Since one would work with such different markets, one can easily expect to understand the minute details of how each commerce market works.
For a successful commerce business, speed and scale is crucial. Understanding and building products that would for example generate a million shipping labels in minutes that too for different shipping partners with different restrictions might sound simple but for sure is challenging! You would face and learn from thousands of such problems!
