Our vaccines facility at Tuas is a key manufacturing site withinour global network supplying the active ingredients used to make multiplepediatric vaccines. Tuas site was officially opened in 2009. To date, the site has played a key role in producing more than 800 million vaccines for pneumococcal diseases. Tuas has a workforce of more than 415 employees.
We are expanding operations at our Tuas site adding new exciting products to our production capabilities and becoming an even more significant part of GSK’s worldwide vaccines supply chain. Intern - Value Stream (Ref: 359470)
What will you do?
- Drive key improvement projects for the Value Stream department in GSK Biologicals
- Work under the guidance of the manufacturing team and will be required to collaborate and manage stakeholders from other functions like Quality and Technical Services to ensure that project milestones are delivered.
- Coordinating with the stakeholders from Quality Assurance, Technical Services and Operations to ensure key deliverables are met
- Support the operations team in managing the daily production activities, including troubleshooting production issues and assisting in deviation investigation/report writing
- Able to drive improvement projects for the operations team
- Assist in the revision of operational/safety documents
- Understand and learn about the fermentation/purification processes in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Learn the validation methodology and requirements for biopharmaceutical process equipment
- Have the opportunity to interact with various functions in the company and gain insights into their respective responsibilities
- Experience the dynamic nature of manufacturing operations and gain insights into the key considerations for manufacturing operations
What are we looking for?
- Educational background – Undergraduate studying Bachelor in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering who is interested in learning more about a manufacturing environment and vaccines
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Deadline-driven, flexible with self-reliance to work in an empowered environment
- Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, and problem-solve
- Strong drive for performance and attention to details
