Currently, we are looking for passionate individuals who resonate with our mission to provide adequate housing to vulnerable elderly and families in need.
Our internship programme under local programme will provide you with the necessary mentoring to kickstart your career in the INGO sector. You will also get the opportunity to be involved in both direct practice and indirect operations. We are currently looking for interns who can make a minimum commitment of 3 months
Key responsibilities
- Assist Project HomeWorks staff in the following responsibilities (60%)
- Case coordination: Liaising with referring partners - usually social workers from government agencies, VWOs
- Home visits & intervention: Conducting needs assessment & co-creating solutions with homeowners during home visits
- Volunteer management: Equipping and inspiring volunteers from all walks of life to join in the work
- Managing project logistics and operations
- Administrative work: Documenting project details and expenses
- Support other special projects (20%)
- Programme monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) through data collection, designing M&E tools, other administrative work
- Community Project and initiatives like event planning and execution (upcoming: A Brush with Kindness)
- Necessary research work to support the work of Habitat Singapore
- Designing your own personal project (20%) – for further discussion upon onboarding
Requirements
- Willing to uphold Habitat for Humanity’s principles; Pls refer to our website (https://www.habitat.org.sg/about-us) for the details.
- Possesses strong organising skills with a good eye for detail
- Possesses good people relations skills in engaging beneficiaries, volunteers and partners
- Has a self-driven, mature personality and works well in team settings
- Has a reasonably fit and healthy physique as work can be physically demanding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office & Google suite
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Able to work on some weekends, usually 1 to 2 Saturdays per month
- Able to commit at least 3 months
- Possessing a Class 3/3A Driving license is a bonus!
