Halza is a newly launched healthcare startup in “stealth” mode seeking a senior mobile app developer to lead the design, development and maintenance of our Android and iPhone apps. The developer will lead the entire app life cycle right from concept stage until delivery and further into post launch support. Apps will include a communications platform that incorporates content integration and management. In addition to delivering the product, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in driving the mobile strategy globally.
Your Tasks
Develop cross-platform mobile applications for the Android and iOS platforms
Work closely with other mobile app developers leading the other platform development
Deliver across the entire app life cycle – concept, design, build,deploy, test, release to app stores and support
Work directly with developers and business team to conceptualize, build,test and realize products
Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects
Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences
Collaborate with web developers to maintain a robust framework to support the apps
Optimize performance for the apps
Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies
Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Attend industry events/conference – both attending and presenting
Act as lead iOS and/ or Android developer. Depending on the skill set,can be lead on one platform and play a supporting role across the other
Requirements
Personal Requirements:
5+ years of proven commercial software development experience – desktop and mobile
Published examples of mobile applications on the App store or the Android market
Excellent knowledge of information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principles
A track record of delivering successful consumer and/or business products
Excellent scoping and estimation skills as well as testing/QA skills
Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision
A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape
Ability to multi task and lead a team of developers
Ability to work independently under time pressure
Self-driven and good team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to thrive in chaos and uncertainty while maintaining both your sense of humor and sanity
Essential Skills:
iOS –
Strong OO design and programming skills in Objective-C
Familiar with iOS SDK (UIKit, Cocoa Touch, Core Data, Core Location, etc.)
Experience with Xcode, Objective-C, MVC framework, API over HTTPS, JSON,App store and TestFlight
Android-
Strong OO design and programming skills in Java (J2EE/ J2ME)
Familiar with the Android SDK
Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system
Familiar with Eclipse
Experience with Android Studio, Java, MVC framework, API over HTTPS,JSON, Play store
Common-
Proven development experience using Windows .Net technologies,particularly with C#
Familiar with general native and cross-platform mobile application development
Understanding of other compiled languages
Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
Experience of development using web technologies
Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns
Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax and PHP
Experience building web and native apps, using social media APIs
Experience with ads integration using a 3rd party ad server (DART)
Using version control (e.g. SVN)
Excellent debugging and optimization skills
Setup and configure A/B tests and implement analytics
Desirable Skills:
Xamarin platform development experience
Scrum Methodology
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 and Microsoft Azure Cloud
