Who are We Looking For
Petal Search strives to be a fast-moving, constantly innovating platform that constantly delights our users. To achieve this vision, we are looking for driven, organised and highly responsible individuals to join our Petal Search team as Business Development Interns!
You will be responsible for curating the Petal Search marketplace to ensure that we will give our users access to the best experience. You will be placed at the forefront of our go-to-market efforts and be tasked with identifying new and trending industries and developing a new eco-system of content providers who will be onboarded with us. As part of the Business Development team, you will liaise with both content providers with the most popular merchants and/or most interesting content to bring the best options/experience to our Petal Search users. You will also cultivate both new and existing relationships with our content partners to help them increase their sales and explore ways for them to develop a deeper bond with their customers via the Petal Search. You come to work with a purpose; to constantly challenge the status quo and take pride in taking on the more established platforms in the market. You are curious and result-oriented, and believe in being an advocate for our users as well as other societal issues such as sustainability and inclusiveness. What will You Do
- Work with the Petal Search team to identify, recruit and onboard content/merchant partners and align our masterplan to the market trends and on-the-ground sentiments
- Develop tracking reports to spot all new trending industries from public sources e.g. blogs, Facebook, IG, restaurant discovery websites, etc.
- Build and update target lists for sales team, and identify content providers/merchants in line with the marketplace strategy
- Negotiate contracts and terms of partnership with potential content providers/merchants
- Work closely with the Petal Search team to ensure smooth onboarding and activation of accounts signed
- Conduct cold calls and walk-ins, schedule in-person meetings and pitch to prospects
What will You Bring to Petal Search
- We are looking for a highly organised, responsible, positive and energetic person who will thrive in an unstructured environment.
- Able to commit for a minimum period of 6 months
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with high EQ.
- Excellent writing skills with a flair for developing creative reader-friendly content
- Strong project management and organisational skills (administration and coordination of scheduling work required)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and under pressure
- Ability to problem solve and respond quickly.
