ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Intern, Genomics – Dry Lab to join the Computational Biology & Bioinformatics team to help develop cutting edge methods for the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data (both short read sequencing and third generation long read sequencing) to improve our bulk and single cell NGS workflow. The successful candidate will learn:
- To build a data analysis pipeline for Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing data for different application such as RNA-seq, whole genome sequencing and exome sequencing
- Get exposure to antibody discovery and development methods and the application of genomic technologies to that
- Get exposed to current challenges in oncology drug discovery
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be part of a team to develop novel bioinformatics pipelines for analysis of Illumina RNA and DNA sequencing data
- Be a part of a team to develop novel bioinformatics pipelines for analysis of Oxford Nanopore RNA and DNA sequencing data
- Mine important and meaningful genomic data from publicly available databases
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s Program in Computer Science, Computational Biology or related Science program
- Experience with programming languages R and Python
- Interest in Life science, Genomic technologies and Big Data analysis
