Job Description

At Hypotenuse, interns aren’t here to sit on the sidelines or buy coffee. We empower you to make decisions, contribute creatively, and think critically. We want self-starters who are entrepreneurial and want a taste of working in a high-growth, fast-moving start-up.

The Business Development intern will work across different business functions, ranging from customer success/support, operations, marketing, and business development. If you are passionate about the core processes that drive start-ups and grow the company, this role is for you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own customer interactions by addressing support queries promptly and empathetically, while contributing to resources like FAQs, help guides, and tutorials to enhance user experience.
  • Serve as the bridge between our customers and the engineering & business teams, effectively communicating customer issues and feedback to drive product improvements
  • Execute and improve operational workflows, supporting functions such as hiring, finance, and customer experience
  • Understand the needs and expectations of customer groups, ideate and execute tailored strategies to drive adoption of the product, and establish positive long-term relationships
  • Assist in planning and execution of new marketing initiatives and operational procedures
  • Conduct market research, analyze and monitor key performance indicators to make data-driven decisions
  • Assist with inbound and outbound sales, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and supporting the sales pipeline to convert potential customers
  • Gain a deep understanding of the entire customer journey, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement, and learning how backend operations like finance and support processes integrate into the overall customer experience

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written; able to write clearly and have user empathy
  • Logical and analytical problem-solver; able to systematically guide users towards solutions & desired outcomes
  • Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented
  • Customer-obsessed, with a genuine heart to delight and help users solve problems
  • Fast learner who can adapt quickly to changes and work both independently and collaboratively
  • A curiosity to understand the full scope of a customer’s journey and the operations that support it, including finance and backend systems
  • Experience in start-ups and/or in tech is a plus
  • Familiarity with B2B software sales processes, both inbound and outbound, is a plus
  • Able to commit for at least 6-12 months
