The role
This role includes oversight of PR editorial content development and is responsible for collaborating with Managing Director on execution of content plan to reach a range of stakeholder audiences. This person will be responsible for communicating corporate messages, clients’ product and services, profiles and industry insights; elevating corporate visibility and reputation regionally / globally.
This position requires a passion for media relations and journalism. Candidates should demonstrate strong media and PR understanding, strategic thinking and strong journalistic skills, a deep understanding of our business and client portfolio, proactive and “can-do” attitudes are crucial. This position is responsible for supporting the PR developments for clients in internet, fintech, real estate and business sectors. Excellent written and verbal English is mandatory. Mandarin verbal and written skills is a plus.

Public relations activity and media engagement
- Writing media releases and pitches to promote the launch of campaigns, new product/ service launches / business development activities
- Maintain media distribution lists and manage media distribution, ensure that the media list is continuously monitored and updated with new and changed media contacts
- Fostering positive relationships with key contacts across the region
- Conceptualise and execute PR strategies from a global and local perspective
- Creating and maintaining a global / regional editorial calendar (online and print publications) as the basis for proactive media outreach
- Support the Managing director by responding to media requests, assisting with media seeding, coordination of setting up media interviews and requests for commentary, working with the relevant internal stakeholders within
- Support the managing director in sourcing background material required for spokespeople briefings prior to interview, or materials needed for feature stories
- Pitch story angles that suit the beats of the media titles, draft journalistic copies that are ready for publication
- Responsibility for tracking and reporting of media coverage on a monthly basis based on the template and compiling a fortnightly media activity log
- Responsible for the timely upload and maintenance of media releases and news with IT consultant
- Source editorial opportunities and interview business stakeholders and write editorial submissions for a range of mainstream, business, technology and lifestyle publications
- Collaborate with various associations to magnify the exposure of the agency in suitable contexts, and support the coordination of webinars
- Support Managing director with event topic curation and work occasionally with content team on collateral production and speaker invitation
- Maintain strong relationship with the media by curating and coordinating media webinars, round tables etc
- Actively initiate/ participate in online conversations on LinkedIn and twitter and engage with stakeholders and targeted influencers online
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and outstanding attention to detail. Adept at prioritising workload and keeping team manager and business stakeholders informed on daily basis
- Initiative-taking: Demonstrate a proactive and motivated work ethic and show initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Writing Skills: outstanding writing ability across a range of formats including media releases and media pitches, news articles, feature length editorials, blog articles, website copy, EDMs
- Planning Skills: Ability to work on multiple projects autonomously, highly organised and able to function well under pressure. Strong time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines
- Analytical capabilities – ability to interpret and analyse statistics, think logically, identify key themes and trends and derive conclusions
- Creative capabilities – Exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to adapt writing style to suit a range of communication styles for multiple online/offline channels
- Organisation skill: Build and maintain report schedules, editorial calendars and media activity schedules
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years’ (internship) experience working in an in-house marketing and communications team, ideally within B2B business /industrial / technology services
- Qualification in mass communications /content marketing / public relations / digital marketing
- Proficiency with MS word suit of softwares, excel, ppt in particular
- Outstanding English, bilingual a plus
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- Support PR target of proactive media outreach by developing media pitches for three focus areas per quarter and obtaining at least 5 media placements per month
- Support quarterly PR targets through proactive management of quarterly editorial calendars and work with the business to develop trends for proactive media approach
- Support PR target of reactive media interest by fostering relationships with key regional media contacts with regular calls and meetings
