Role Overview:
This position is the primary technical role for the field sales force and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. This role also provide technical support and expertise to customers, testing applications, responding to customer feedback, installation, maintenance and often performing sales presentations and demonstrations.
- Cooperate closely with Drylin Product Manager (based in Singapore) to define actions to extend igus® product development in the defined region, especially in LCA aspects
- Presale technical, communication and programming support for special applications.
- Primary contact to for technical, engineering, design and quality issues.
- Validates pre-sales analysis of functionality of product when required.
- Test alternative techniques and methods; recommends changes in procedures or equipment as necessary.
- Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistently with the company mission, values and financial objectives.
- Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, and training services.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other sale personnel and colleague from other departments such as customer service, inside sales and product managers as appropriate to resolve technical issues that arise during order life cycle and to ensure successful delivery of solutions to customers.
- As this position develops, the employee maybe assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by the management.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be expected to possess and display the following skills, knowledge and attributes in order to excel in the role:
- Engineering (Mechatronics) diploma or similar educational back ground
- 1-2 years’ experience in automation design
- Established and strong network in the engineering field, machine building or similar industry is of advantage
- Basic knowledge of programming ( C++,C#, Python, Visual Studio….)
- Knowledge in technical drawings 2D and 3D drawing.
- Demonstrated ability to generate technical reports.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to listen, understand, educate, and influence customers/potential customers regarding products.
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Able to work under pressure in a flexible and fast changing environment
- Able to work independently and focused with the objective to position igus® as the key brand in Singapore.
