Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Sous Chef in ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations.
- Prepare and execute menu dishes to the highest standards.
- Carry out daily kitchen preparation which includes, but not limited to,
- Wash, peel and/or cut a variety of vegetables and fruits
- Clean and cut a variety of meats and seafood
- Prepare all other ingredients and menu dishes
- Carry out daily general kitchen duties which include, but not limited to,
- Setting up and cleaning of kitchen equipment
- Dishwashing
- Cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors and storage areas
- Trash disposal
- Organize and ensure kitchen is clean and tidy in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist the team in maintaining healthy costing through efficient purchasing and consumption of stock
- Handle all kitchen equipment properly and ensure they are kept in good working condition
- Ensure food hygiene and safety standards are strictly adhered to daily
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities of work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef
Requirements:
- Preferably with at least 1-year relevant working experience in the Japanese restaurant
- Fast learner
- Ability to skillfully multitask
- Team player
