The Bar Manager shall manage and direct a team of staff operating in the bar and the service sections to ensure the smooth running of daily operations in line with the Company's business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operations
- Responsible for inventory management of wines through proper planning and utilization of available resources.
- Work with Operations Manager and Marketing Manager to execute in-store marketing initiatives, promotions, and initiatives to increase the profile of the Bar.
- Work with Operations Manager to improve restaurant standards and service benchmarks to increase revenue and reduce costs, which include food and beverage, manpower, supply and utility costs.
- Jointly responsible for achieving sales targets, quality expectations and service performance of the Bar
- Ensuring cash management protocols are adhered to at all times and balances are correct.
- Documentation of daily sales
- Responsible for the costing and update of all costing sheets including but not limited to Wines, Cocktails, Spirits and non-Alcoholic beverages.
- Work with bar, kitchen and service team to ensure sound and timely procurement of supplies through the use of purchase order for dry goods, disposable items, wines, spirits, soft drinks etc.
- Attend daily role call prior to each service
- Attend weekly OPS meeting and bi-weekly food meeting
2. Service
- Supervise the team and ensure the execution of a high level of service and drink standards
- Participate in service to support the team
- Ensure reservations are captured, recorded and honored
- Handling and resolving guests' complaints
3. Human Resource
- Planning, coordinating and supervision of staff to attain high standards of product knowledge and service
- Working with OPS Manager to supervise, guide and develop of junior staff
- Planning with OPS Manager and execute of training programs for bar and service
- Monitor performance of junior services staff and conduct periodical evaluations, coaching and counseling
- Highlight to and work with the OPS Manager to handle staff disciplinary issues and grievances
4. Health and Safety
- Ensure all equipment and spaces conform to sanitary regulations and high housekeeping standards
- Enforce food labeling
- Monitoring and ensure proper handling of equipment
5. Others
- Any other tasks as assigned to you by the OPS Manager or Director.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge in using MS Excel and MS Word
- Strong background in Wines and Spirits
- Comprehension in speaking, reading and writing English
Requirements:
- Must be at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar industry
- Preferably with certification in Wine and Spirits
- Strong Leadership
- Excellent in Customer Service
- Able to be creative and "think out of the box" to solve problems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
