Business Development Intern (Projects)
Insect Feed Technologies (IFT) is an insect farming company that farms the Black Soldier Fly as a sustainable source of nutrition for the animal feed industry. It is currently focused on optimizing nutrition for the aqua feed sector and develops proprietary processing techniques for each phase of the Black Soldier Fly’s development.

As a business development intern, you will work closely with other team members to develop initiatives and scale the business. You’ll get to work with stakeholders across our ecosystem of partners, from feed manufacturers to government agencies and investors.
What you will do and learn:
- Work on a special project and determining its market potential and value to the company, with a presentation and mini-report with recommendations.
- Work closely with the team to identify and evaluate potential business development partnerships with stakeholders
- Assist in capital budgeting (i.e. Financial projections, P&L, cashflow statements) and resource deployment (i.e. manpower allocation) for projects
- Assist in stakeholder account management for projects with organizations such as government agencies and technology partners
- Work with the team to prepare for pitch sessions and investor discussions. You will also get the opportunity to represent the company and pitch
- Keep abreast of industry and startup ecosystem development, and assist with market intelligence
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and characteristics:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in any relevant field of study in a recognized university
- Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven with a strong sense of ownership
- Can-do attitude - we are a lean team; we are looking for folks that are willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
- Enjoys interacting and forming relationships with partners
- Motivated to work on purposeful projects with a strong interest in sustainability
- Highly tech savvy, analytical, and have strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution - do things quickly, and do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
